Will appointments be held in person or telemedicine?

As of now, appointments will be telemedicine using doxy.me https://doxy.me/stephaniedang. In office visits will be on Fridays only implementing the necessary precautions to maintain safety of you and others in the future.

Can a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner prescribe medications?

In short, yes. According to the Texas Board of Nursing, a licensed and certified APRN can provide medical services such as performing physical examinations, ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests, manage acute episodic illnesses and stable chronic diseases, and prescribe medications and treatments under the delegation and supervision of a Medical Doctor.

What services do you provide?

  • Psychiatric evaluation, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.

  • medication management for mood disorders including depression and bipolar, anxiety, psychotic, and cognitive disorders, PTSD, and ADHD.

  • As of now I am only seeing 18 years+.

Do you provide psychotherapy?

As a PMHNP psychotherapy is within my scope of practice. However, I focus on medication management which encompasses addressing concerns, provide education, and support patients in their self management and situational stressors. It is recommended to establish individual or group psychotherapy with an outside provider.

Do you accept insurance?

I am in network with the following insurances:

  • Aetna PPO

  • Ambetter

  • BCBS of TX PPO

  • Cigna

  • Compsych

  • Humana

  • Optum/United Health Care

  • (It is your responsibility to verify with your insurance if I am in or out of network and if your plan has behavioral health benefits or deductible plan.)

If you are paying out of pocket, 60 minute initial evaluations are $285 and 30 minute follow up appointments are $165. I can also provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.

What payment am I responsible for?

If using insurance, you are responsible for your co-pay amount at time of visit and any other cost that is not reimbursed by your insurance such as a deductible. If out of pocket, you are responsible for full fee. All patients are responsible for late cancellation/no show and late arrival fees.

What is the cancellation, no show, or late arrival policy?

  • There is no fee for cancellations made 24hrs before your appointment time. Late cancellations after 24hrs will have a $100 fee.

  • No shows will have a $150 fee.

  • If you are arrive later than 10 minutes after your appointment time, it will be considered late and will have a $150 fee. It is important and in your best interest to arrive on time as it allows appropriate time with your provider to assess properly and discuss plan of care.

Will you prescribe controlled substances for anxiety, insomnia, or ADHD?

If appropriate treatment for your care, controlled substances may be recommended. An agreement to use of controlled substances will be established prior to any prescriptions. Controlled substances will not be immediately prescribed on evaluation unless otherwise deemed appropriate. Follow up appointments may be more frequent to be in accordance with Texas and US Regulations.

Do you provide emotional support animal letters, complete short term disability, or FMLA paperwork?

At this time I do not provide ESA, short term, or FMLA paperwork. For established patients of 6 months or longer, consideration for FMLA will be made.
