There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind. - C.S. Lewis

A Little About Me…

I attended The University of Texas at Austin for college and have considered Austin my home for the last 15+ years. I recently adopted my foster, Glory, after saying goodbye to my best furry friend, Shipley. I also spend my time volunteering for medical missions around the world.

Since a young age, I have had a long held desire to bring healing and restoration to the lives of those who are hurting. The way I feel called to serve others is by addressing the neurobiological factors that contribute to mood, anxiety, psychotic, and cognitive disorders, as well as the environmental, behavioral, and genetic factors involved.

It is a privilege for me and also my responsibility as a medical provider to offer clear guidance, evaluation, and treatment to improve your well being. I look forward to seeing how I might be able to serve you.

Specialty

I received my Bachelors of Science in Biology at The University of Texas at Austin in 2008. Following undergrad, I worked at a biotechnology company. Although I found the work to be important, I wanted to work and care for others directly.

I returned to UT to receive my masters in Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist board certified in 2012 and began practicing in the long term care and skilled nursing facilities as the medical provider. I became passionate about caring for the geriatric population and wanted to gain more training and education to address their psychiatric needs.

So…for a third time, I returned to UT to receive my post masters as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner board certified. I have experience in acute settings of inpatient hospitalization, intensive outpatient, independent and assisted living, nursing homes, and private practice. I have treated adolescents, adults and geriatrics who have mood disorders, psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, and neurocognitive disorders.

Currently I practice in the long term care setting, assisted and independent living, and as an adjunct professor at Texas State University.

My sister, Tiffany Dang is a Licensed Professional Counselor, EMDR certified, with Abound & Flourish, encouraged me to pursue private practice at the beginning of 2020 and am so thankful for the confidence she had in me as I have enjoyed walking alongside others!
